Choosing a Reliable Moving Company In Christchurch

Moving is stressful. The last thing you need is a moving company that shows up late, breaks your stuff, or tries to overcharge when everything is on the truck. 

Most people find out a company is bad after the move is done. These 4 points help save you from a stressful move before moving day:

Will Your Quote Change?

Some movers give you a low quote to win the job, then change the price once your stuff is on the truck. Going with the cheapest option ends up in damaged items or the price jumps at the last minute. Always get your quote in writing before moving day.

Transport

Any moving truck over 3,500kg is legally required to hold a current Certificate of Fitness (CoF) in New Zealand, issued by Waka Kotahi NZTA. It means the truck has passed checks on brakes, tyres, suspension and structure. A company with CoF compliant trucks takes the job seriously.

Are the Movers Their Own Staff?

A lot of moving companies book the job then hand it off to someone else entirely. When that happens, the company you trusted is no longer the one handling your belongings. Always ask if the people showing up on the day are their own trained staff.

Read Reviews the Right Way

Do not just count the stars. Look for reviews that mention specific items like fridges, pianos or fragile boxes and how they were handled. Also check how the company responds to bad reviews because that tells you a lot about how they deal with problems.

Amazing mover company.
They are so fast to reply and very good with timing. They moved all my normal house furnitures but also very big plants and wood panels etc. From Richmond to the country side.
They are super polite and efficient.

We used We Move last weekend and Jaspree and Manee were fantastic.

They have a high quality of:
- genuine quality work ethic (very difficult to find in NZ),
- punctuality,
- responsive communication in scheduling, billing,
- seriously amazing driving skills backing into a tight city townhome driveway
- and professionalism in getting the job done with care and quality.

There were no scratches, carpets were clean, no dings in the walls despite the house being of a mini doll house size. All of our items we moved were also in good condition / undamaged.

Jas is definitely wired to get things done properly. It will take him a long way in life. Thank you Jas and Manee. It was a pleasure working with the both of you.

Jas was responsive on communication and was able to fit in with the our timing moving from Hawke's Bay to Christchurch. We did most of our own packing but they expertly loaded the truck to the brim and nothing was broken or lost. Friendly and helpful service.

Jas and the team a first class, highly recommend. He was great to work with, and get through the details of what we needed done, and the whole team is super friendly.

We had a niggly move, from a 3 bedroom place in Ashburton, into a two bedroom apartment in central Christchurch with some tricky access and stair work (sorry crew) but they knocked it out in good time, at a good price, and with good care - 10/10 will be using them again next time we move.
