Hornby falls under Christchurch City Council. Here is what is worth knowing before your move day.
Licensing & Business Requirements
- Transport Service Licence (TSL): All our trucks are licensed for commercial transport across New Zealand.
- Business Registration: Locally owned and NZBN registered.
Consumer Rights & Liability
- Read your moving contract before the day so you know what is covered. For high-value items, get your own insurance.
- Prohibited Items: No gas cans, chemicals, or hazardous materials. That is a hard rule.
Parking & Access
- Around The Hub and Dress Smart: Loading zones fill up fast, especially on weekdays. We sort the access before the move day so there are no holdups.
- SH1 junction timing: We schedule around the peak traffic periods where we can.
- Apartment access: Newer buildings around Hornby Central usually have lifts and loading bays. Older walk-ups are a different story but we have done plenty of those too.
Vehicle Compliance
- All trucks carry a current Certificate of Fitness and we keep them that way.
Waste & Recycling
- Christchurch City Council runs EcoDrop transfer stations around the city. If you have rubbish to clear on move day, we can point you to the closest one.
